To reach the Sunshine Coast, take the Langdale Ferry at Horseshoe Bay. Horseshoe Bay is located just 20 minutes north of the city of Vancouver, off Highway 1. The Langdale Ferry runs approximately every 2 hours and the ferry crossing time is 40 minutes. Boarding the ferry in Horseshoe Bay, your journey to the Sunshine Coast really begins. For forty minutes you will be enchanted by the scenery of fir and cedar treed islands against a backdrop of coastal mountains.

After docking it is a twenty-six kilometre drive (driving time approximately 30 minutes) on Highway 101 to the town of Sechelt. On the way you pass the fishing and beach combing village of Gibson's Landing, the 'gumboot' community of Roberts Creek and the self-governing Sechelt Indian Band to Sechelt with it's cafes, coffee houses and pubs.

From Sechelt it's a short drive along the water to A Place by the Sea

Entering Sechelt you come to the third set of lights: turn right onto Wharf Street. Continue along Wharf Street, go straight through a 4 way stop, all the way down past the marina and Lighthouse Pub and up the hill to the stop sign at Trail Ave. Turn right on Trail Ave for one block and then right again on Marine Way. Just continue along and look for our sign on the right hand side of the road. We are at 5810 Marine Way - we'll be waiting for you!

DRIVING DIRECTIONS FROM VANCOUVER INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT:

• Look for destination signs leaving the airport terminal and follow Highway 99 North into Vancouver
• West on Georgia Street, through Stanley Park
• Cross the Lions Gate Bridge
• Follow Highway 1 (Upper Levels Highway), to Horseshoe Bay ferry terminal

Total estimated driving time from Vancouver International Airport: 45 minutes depending on traffic conditions.

DRIVING DIRECTIONS FROM SEATTLE TO HORSESHOE BAY FERRY TERMINAL:

1) Through Downtown Vancouver:

• I-5 North to the Canadian border
• In British Columbia, I-5 becomes Highway 99
• Follow Highway 99 North into Vancouver
• West on Georgia Street, through Stanley Park
• Cross the Lions Gate Bridge
• Follow Highway 1 (Upper Levels Highway) to Horseshoe Bay ferry terminal

Total estimated driving time: about 3 hrs 30 minutes depending on traffic conditions

2) Quick Route – Truck Crossing – Avoids Vancouver:

• I-5 North to the Canadian border
• Take Exit 275, off of I-5, before getting to the main border (Peach Arch) crossing.
• Follow the Pacific Highway 15 (176th Street) past Surrey and over the Cloverdale Bypass to Hwy #1.
• Take the exit for Highway #1 Westbound to Vancouver, and follow it over the Port-Mann Bridge then over the Second Narrows Bridge (Ironworkers Memorial Bridge), through North & West Vancouver and then to Horseshoe Bay.

	B.C. Ferries Schedules and Travel Information: Daily Ferry Schedule between Horseshoe Bay (Vancouver) and the Sunshine Coast (Langdale)
	West Coast Air: For those of you flying into Vancouver International Airport, you can rent a car at the airport and drive to Horseshoe Bay Ferry Terminal. Or, another option is to take a float plane from Vancouver Airport directly to the Sunshine Coast. West Coast Air offers daily flights from Vancouver Airport (Richmond) to Sechelt on the Sunshine Coast. You fly into Porpoise Bay, just a 2 minute drive from A Place by the Sea! Car Rentals are available in Sechelt (see below) & rental companies will pick you up from the West Coast Air Terminal in Sechelt.
	Malaspina Coach Lines: Malaspina Coach Lines offers a daily bus from Vancouver Airport to the Sunshine Coast (getting off bus in Sechelt). We would be happy to pick up our guests from the Sechelt Bus Depot.
	Car Rentals: Car rentals are available in Sechelt on the Sunshine Coast. We highly recommend that visitors to the Sunshine Coast have a vehicle in order to be mobile and explore what the coast has to offer: beaches, hiking trails, art galleries, and more! Prime Rentals will pick guests up from the West Coast Air Terminal.
